Head Coach - Jarret Whidden
Jarret enters his third season as Head Coach at Kent State University with great expectations. In Jarret's first season, the Golden Flashes set a new team record for wins in a season (26) on route to a National Tournament appearance. The second season was just as successful with a 2nd straight 20 win season and National Tournament appearance.  Jarret brings great experience and an understanding of what it takes to win to Kent State. Jarret was a standout player in his only season at Ohio University (ACHA Div I) earning the ACHA Player of the Year and ACHA Div I All-Tournament honors for the 93-94 season while leading the country in scoring. Jarret then completed three successful years playing at Ohio State University (NCAA Div I) while earning his Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Following graduation at Ohio State, Jarret spent the next six years notching 327 points, playing at the Professional Level with stops in the IHL, ECHL, UHL, WPHL and the WCHL.

Asst Coach - Brian Gahagan

Brian enters his first season as Asst Coach with Kent State. Brian played four seasons with Kent State and served as Capt his Junior and Senior seasons and was a CSCHL All-Star two seasons. Brian played for the Cap District Selects Jr A prior to attending Kent State.

 

General Manager - Christian Wilk
Chris has been at Kent St for 17 years, building the program to consistently contend for a National Tournament spot. After 12 years as the Head Coach and leading Kent State to National Tournament appearences in 2000 and 2001 Christian stepped down has Head Coach to focus on the administrative side of the program. Chris has served as the CSCHL President for three terms and is also the ACHA Executive Director.

Kent State Ice Hockey is proud to be a partner with the International Center for Sport Management and Integral Sports Solutions. The International Center for Sport Management works in conjunction with business and the Sport Management program at Kent State to provide assistance with administration, marketing, PR and other aspects of the organization through internships and consulting. This partnership allows the organization to incorporate professional business practices into the standard daily functions to improve the value to the student/athletes, university community and the fans.
